Areas of Life

Your wellbeing has many dimensions.
Each one can be measured.

You might be thriving emotionally but struggling at work. Doing well professionally but feeling invisible socially. AdjustmentScore measures each dimension independently, because treating your whole life as a single score misses everything that matters.

The most common finding
People who check one area almost always discover another that needs attention. The second assessment is usually the most important one.

What is AdjustmentScore?

A real number. Zero trace left behind.

Mental health check-ins should never require trust in a company you don't know. AdjustmentScore is built differently, your answers are used only to calculate your score, are never linked to your name or identity, and are never stored or sold.

πŸ”’
Private by architecture, not by policy
Your answers are never linked to your name, email, or any account, there isn't one. Nothing connects you to your score unless you choose to unlock a report.
πŸ§ͺ
Built on validated clinical tools
The questions come from a professionally validated psychological battery used by counsellors in clinical practice. Reliability scores average 0.88, not a quiz someone made up online.
🎯
A clear number, not a vague feeling
You see your real score and verdict for free, compared against a published benchmark, before you pay anything. No locked numbers used to pressure you, no ambiguous graphs standing in for a real answer.

FAQ

Questions people ask

Before you start, here's what most people want to know

No. AdjustmentScore is a self-assessment tool, not therapy, not a diagnosis. Think of it like a blood pressure reading. It tells you your number and whether that number is in a healthy range. What you do with that information is up to you.
AdjustmentScore is built on the Multidimensional Adjustment Battery (MAB), a professionally validated psychological assessment instrument developed and used by counsellors in clinical and research practice. The MAB covers a broad range of life adjustment areas and has reliability scores (Cronbach's Alpha) averaging 0.88 out of 1.0, which is considered high for psychological instruments. You are not answering questions someone made up. You are completing the same scales a professional would administer in a clinical setting.
The MAB has been validated for reliability and clinical use. A Cronbach's Alpha of 0.88 means the scales are internally consistent and measure what they claim to measure. That said, no self-report questionnaire is a complete picture. Scores can be affected by how you're feeling on the day, your willingness to be honest, and life circumstances a questionnaire cannot fully capture. Use your score as a starting point, not a final verdict. A trained professional will always give you more than a number can.
Each MAB scale has a published population benchmark, the average score of people who are coping well in that area. If your score meets or exceeds that benchmark, you are considered "Adjusted" in that area, meaning you are managing this part of life reasonably well. If your score falls below it, you are "Not Adjusted", which does not mean something is permanently wrong. It means this is an area where professional support, or even a structured conversation, could make a real difference.
No. There is no account, no registration, and no login. You come to the site, choose an area, answer the questions, and that's it. Nothing is tied to your identity at any point.
Yes, and this is structural, not just a policy. Your answers are scored entirely within your browser using JavaScript. Nothing leaves your device while you take the assessment. We have no database and no record of what you answered. When you choose to unlock your report, your score and the scale you completed are sent to our server solely to create a Stripe payment session. They are never stored. Payment itself is handled by Stripe. Once you close the tab, everything is gone.
No. Because we do not store your results anywhere, there is nothing for anyone to access. Your report is a PDF downloaded directly to your device. It never passes through our servers. Only you have it.
Taking the assessment is free. The $19 unlocks your full PDF report, which includes your exact score, how it compares to the population benchmark, a plain-English explanation of what your score means, and a recommended next step. It is a one-time charge, not a subscription, not a recurring payment. We keep the assessment free so that cost is never a reason not to start.
Your report includes: your raw score and the maximum possible score for your chosen scale; a visual score bar showing where you sit relative to the benchmark; your verdict (Adjusted or Not Adjusted) with a clear explanation of what that means for your specific score; and a recommended next step if your score suggests support would help. The report is dated, labelled with your assessment area, and yours to keep, share with a professional, or refer back to.
Yes. AdjustmentScore covers multiple distinct areas of life. From emotional wellbeing and anxiety to work, marriage, bereavement, retirement, and more. Each area is a separate assessment. You can take as many as are relevant to you, in any order, at any time. Each one costs $19 to unlock. Many people find that checking a second area reveals something they did not expect.
It depends on the scale. Shorter assessments (8 questions) take about 3 minutes. Longer ones (like Work & Occupation (32 questions) or Relationship & Marriage (35 questions)) take around 13 minutes. The estimated time is shown on each scale before you begin. You read each statement and respond with how true it feels for you right now. There are no right or wrong answers.
A low score does not mean something is permanently wrong with you. It means you are carrying more in this area than you probably should be carrying alone. Your report will suggest a practical next step, typically a platform where you can speak with a licensed therapist. You are not obligated to act on it immediately, but having a number and a clear direction is usually more useful than a vague sense that something is off.
AdjustmentScore is designed for adults aged 16 and over. Some scales (such as Empty Nest, Widowhood, or Retirement) are only relevant at specific life stages; the site makes this clear before you begin. This tool is not a substitute for clinical assessment if you are currently experiencing a mental health crisis. If you are in immediate distress, please visit the Crisis Resources page.
